Jonathan S. Sack is co-founder of Sack & Sack, a full-service employment law firm.

Mr. Sack has extensive experience in all aspects of employment law, including the prosecution and defense of breach of contract, bonus, commission and other pay claims. The firm negotiates, arbitrates and litigates employment discrimination claims based upon gender, sexual orientation, race, national origin, religion, disability, age, FMLA and wage and hour claims and other protected classes. He has served as a mediator and regularly appears on behalf of clients in discrimination matters filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights, New York City Commission on Human Rights and the National Labor Relations Board. Mr. Sack counsels clients on the increasingly complex array of laws concerning issues such as family and medical leaves of absence, wage and hour laws, reasonable accommodations for disabled employees, workplace investigations, sexual harassment awareness training, preparation of human resource policies and severance agreements.

Mr. Sack’s experience also includes counseling employers on matters relating to executive compensation, wrongful discharge, plant closings, downsizing and workforce restructuring. In addition to a broad range of commercial litigation experience, Mr. Sack has extensive experience litigating the misappropriation of trade secrets and the enforceability of non-competition agreements and other restrictive covenants in both federal and state courts.

In additional to mainstream employment counseling, Mr. Sack offers expertise in matters arising in both the private and public sectors, including grievance arbitration and dispute resolution, proceedings before the NASD, NLRB, job actions and work stoppages, union campaigns, contract negotiations, injunctions and related federal and state court litigation.

Mr. Sack’s representative employer clients include, among others, JourneyCorp., NEMCO, Vegos & Company, Armitron, E. Gluck Corp., Golden Tree Asset Management, Eminence Capital and Safdie National Bank, Bond Street Group.

Mr. Sack is also a member of New York City’s most prestigious legal and social affiliations. A few of those affiliations include, American Bar Association – Labor and Employment Law Section, New York State Bar Association - Labor and Employment Law Section, New York State Trial Lawyer’s Association, New York County Lawyer’s Association – Labor Law Section, Association of the Bar of the City of New York – Legal Referral and National Labor Law Moot Court Competition. Mr. Sack also serves as Vice President of Sutton Place Synagogue, a Trustee of the UJA Planned Giving and Endowments, “Sack & Sack Scholarship Fund.”, and a Member of the board of Trustees of the Albert G. Oliver Program, Inc., a not-for-profit organization placing motivated inner city teens in private day and preparatory schools.

Since 1989, Mr. Sack has been a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars and he is admitted to practice before the District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Federal District of New Jersey, the U.S. Tax Court and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Mr. Sack resides in Manhattan with his wife and three children.
